1.  Create and plan a realistic budget. Budgeting isn’t romantic, but this is the best time for you and your fiancé, as a couple, to start discussing money matters as a couple.

2. Thinking out of the box? BE PRACTICAL ! Out-of-the-ordinary locations or theme may be your dream wedding, just remember some of the hidden planning that can be involved.

3. Remember that this is your wedding, NOT A JOB FAIR. Hire someone experienced and let your family celebrate and enjoy this memorable day with you.

4. NEVER ASSUME. Put everything on writing. Ask your suppliers for contracts. Write due dates on your calendar. Update your to-do-list.

5. Be nice, really nice. Your wedding planner can also be your first son’s birthday planner. If you treat them like you hired them for their services, they will give you exactly what you paid for. But if you go out of your way to say thank-you during the planning process, suppliers appreciate it and will give you the above-and-beyond treatment when it comes to your big day.
